Help for spouses and other dependents of CSIS policyholders 

Ever since the charity was founded, the Fund has given direct assistance to a small number of widows and widowers of deceased CSIS policyholders. These grants typically help with costs such as essential household bills, replacing white goods, and, in rare cases, to help clear debts.  The number of such cases is diminishing and it is now our policy to refer all such requests to the Charity for Civil Servants. They assess the financial circumstances of applicants and keep us informed of assistance given. 

This assistance is given on a purely discretionary basis, and must be applied for directly.  To ask about eligibility for a grant please contact the Charity Fund Secretary using our enquiry form.

Please note that we can only give grants or advice to individuals who are either current Civil Service Insurance Society policyholders or who have been financially dependent on a policyholder who has died.   If you’re not eligible, please see our Useful Links page for other organisations which may be able to assist.
